Understanding RSS Feeds

When you subscribe to our RSS feed it means rather than you having to keep remembering to come  and visit us for any new exciting information that we may have posted, we can send it straight to you.  It’s the difference between going to the local news agents to buy a paper v’s having it delivered through your door (only RSS feeds don’t cost extra). Some days you may forget to go to the newsagents, or feel like you can’t be bothered. Sometimes you may forget to check our website, or dare we say it feel like you can’t be bothered.

The problem here is that you may miss out on a vital piece of information for your business.

The RSS feed makes it very easy to get a snapshot of a piece of information and disregard it if you are not interested. If only newspapers posted through the door were that easy.

If you want to receive RSS feeds then you need something called a feed reader to look at them, or you can add them to your home page.  Google provides just the thing for free with Google Reader. If you haven’t used them before, RSS feeds can take a bit of getting used to. The best thing to do is to try it out and see how it works for you.  Once discovered, many people go the other way and become addicts.
