Priceless Business Video Marketing Tips
Priceless insights into creating video to market your business were given today by Dave Kaminski from Web Video University.com. Whilst I’d love to give you all the details of this valuable call, these are for members of The Third Tribe [affiliate link] (please note that I only recommend things that I use myself and highly recommend) . Here are great gems of information that I have taken from the call that you can take with you and implement.
The key points to remember when making your video are:
1. Be conscious of your video length. Unless it is a paid for or training video, your video should only be 2-4 minutes in length, otherwise people will click away.
2. Keep your videos moving. We are used to images changing and moving from the TV and we are programmed to expect this. Try and create visual changes every 3-4 seconds.
Ideas for this are to chop your video up into scenes or switch between video and screen capture.
Common Mistakes that People Make When They Make a Video
1. The need for transparency. Don’t try and be something that you are not. Give your audience a glimpse of who you really are. They want to deal with real people. Don’t feel like you have to disguise the backdrops behind you as these help people to relate to you.
2. Don’t feel like you have to have the best equipment before shooting your video. If you decide not to make a video until you have the right equipment, you are at risk of not getting it done at all. Make videos with the video equipment you have and improve your equipment as you get more experienced at making videos. Don’t get hung up on equipment. The key is to gain experience.
3. People often fear that they will be criticised, so they don’t create any videos. Let’s face it, when we create videos we are all going to get criticised. Look on the positive side that if you are getting criticism then this is a positive thing as it means that people are taking notice.
Time Saver Technique
Dave Kaminski describes his time saver technique in creating a storyboard and scripting out what he wants to say before he says it. By planning out the shots, the words, the changes before he starts, the time with the camera goes a lot quicker. You can record your video in sections.
